Coron'art Flowers Project
2020
Using photographs taken and collected from around the world of people wearing protective masks since the COVID-19 health crisis, the artist imagined shapes resembling flowers and created bouquets.
Even as humanity plunges into a massive death anguish with its procession of funeral creations, the artist resists. She sublimates this new object, which has become vital in these times of health crisis, supports the urge to live, and poetically invites us to remember this critical period of the pandemic.
With these unique flowers and bouquets, she pays tribute to those who have passed away, reminds us of the importance of respecting life and nature, and captures in her work the indelible marks that this crisis has left on the individual and family histories of many human beings across the globe.
