Contemporary art finds a new voice at Versailles. From October 16 to November 16, 2025, Élodie Abergel's studio at 53 rue Montreuil is transformed into an exhibition space to present "IN-CORPS-RUPTIBLE " (INCORRUPTIBLE), a powerful reflection on the persistence of the body in our fragmented era.
Élodie Abergel, whose work has been part of contemporary and contextual art for several years, offers us with this exhibition an intimate and universal exploration of what remains despite fragmentation. The artist, trained at the Fine Arts School of Nantes, then settled in Jerusalem for nearly ten years before developing her work between Paris and New York, brings to Versailles her humanistic and poetic "artivist" vision.
Exhibition Manifesto

The body fragments, disperses, consumes itself — but it remains. In her works, Élodie Abergel brings forth faces inhabited by matter, silhouettes traversed by objects, landscapes saturated with memory. Each fragment, each shard, each debris becomes a cell of a vaster flesh: social, intimate, universal.
"In-corps-ruptible" speaks of the strength of the body, not intact, but recomposed. It allows itself to be traversed by the machine, the urban, the everyday, while resisting erasure. Through accumulations, collages and repetitions, the artist constructs a sensitive archaeology: that of a living memory that refuses to disappear. Here, the body becomes archive and poem.
Fragile in its materials, but incorruptible in its persistence.
And we, faced with these persistent fragments — what remains in us that is incorruptible?
A Recomposed Body, a Living Memory
"The body fragments, disperses, consumes itself — but it remains."
This phrase, which opens the exhibition manifesto, perfectly summarizes Élodie Abergel's approach. Through her works, she brings forth "faces inhabited by matter, silhouettes traversed by objects, landscapes saturated with memory." Each element becomes a cell of a vaster flesh, at once social, intimate and universal.
The artist, who defines herself as an "artivist," uses materials from her environment that she diverts through different mediums - photography, installation, video, performance - according to what she wishes to express. This approach allows her to construct a "sensitive archaeology": that of a living memory that refuses to disappear.
An Exhibition in the heart of the Studio
The choice to present this exhibition in the artist's own studio in Versailles creates a particular intimacy with the creative process. This approach recalls the "Territories of Sharing" developed by Abergel, where interaction with space and visitors is an integral part of the work.
Exhibition Opening in Versailles
The opening will take place on Thursday, October 16 from 7:30 PM, offering the opportunity to meet the artist and discover her latest creations in an intimate setting. Visits will continue by appointment until November 16, 2025.
A Universal Question
"And we, faced with these persistent fragments — what remains in us that is incorruptible?"
This final question invites each visitor to personal reflection on their own resistance, their own persistence in the face of daily trials.
